St-Valentine’s Day Wrap Decoration DIY With Paper Heart Origami
Do you already know how you will wrap your St-Valentine’s gift? How about making something special with personal touch! For example, you can make a cool paper heart and attach it to a gift box. I am going to do exactly that!
I have come up with this little DIY which is fun and amusing. Why amusing? Well, in my DIYs that involve paper I love to use pages from fashion magazines. Their text and pictures may combine into fun patterns – and each time the pattern that emerges is different and surprising.
To make an origami heart you need:
- old magazines
- cardboard boxes or another wrapping you want to use
- double sided tape – you can also use a glue
- scissors
Go through the magazines and tear the pages with images printed in red – or any other colour you want to use for your hearts
For this origami you need a piece of paper shaped in square.
To get a square, bend the page in diagonal aligning two edges and cut along the other edge.
If you want to make hearts of different shapes, make squares of different sizes.
And here comes the origami scheme! (the scheme is taken from www.cuorhome.net)
You may wonder what part of the paper will appear on the face of the heart. It is the stripe next to the bottom edge you fold up in the step two of the scheme.
Here comes your first heart!
Now it is time to attach the heart to the box.
Flip the heart upside down, put a piece of double sided tape on…
..remove the second paper and glue the heart on the box. Here we go
Have fun making your hearts!
And happy St-Valentine’s! 😉
