How I Won “Bulles & Tendances” Fashion Contest By Elle Quebec

This week I won an Instagram contest “Bulles & Tendances” organized by Elle Quebec!

The contest participants had to publish photos of their favorite tendencies of the season on Instagram with a tag #ellebt. The prize was a gift basket worth $300. Last Thursday Elle Quebec chose the winner. It turned out that my photo won!

On the picture, there is my favorite vintage dress I bought for $6 two years ago at a second store Renaissance. I paired it with a pair of velvet flats from Payless Shoestore (they cost only $45!) and a pearl strand that used to belong to my mom.

Back two years ago, I wrote about the dress in the Diary of a Frugalista:Second-Hand Cocktail Dresses post in the SWAP Team blog.

And now this dress has got the recognition it deserved! Woo-hoo!

For the Elle Quebec party I wore it with the same flats from the picture and a butterfly second hand necklace.
This is me, my prizes, and the promised bubbles! We were served free Prosecco during the entire party.

I got an annual subscription of the Elle Quebec magazine, a $100 coupon to a spa wayspa.com, a $100 coupon to the Elisa C-Rossow store, and some other cool stuff. I also met many great people from Elle Quebec and got some kisses from the éditeur en chef Denis Desro!

Montreal designer Elisa C-Rossow made a performance during the event. She showed us alive how she makes her famous sculptures made of fabric.

There was also a photo booth at the party, and my friends and I had a great time posing for the ELLE cover! Here is our starring trio: Aleece Germano, the founder of the SWAP Team (right), her sister-in-law Fiona (middle), and me (left).
